Glasses are raised around the table, with the couple seated close among the others. I like this image from the welcome-dinner editorial because it immediately says something about closeness. The design remains visible, while the people draw the eye.
For a wedding in Veneto, there is a useful idea here: begin the weekend together at the table. A shared evening gives you time to talk before the celebration starts the next day. The two photo series show how differently these days can be shaped.
I am Maurice from Renois Weddings, and I photographed the series at Content Experience Italy. They were created as staged editorials to inspire your own wedding.
Day 01: A welcome dinner to settle in together
The welcome-dinner editorial took place in Veneto on September 22, 2026. While making pasta together, the couple engages with each other and the ingredients. For photography, this creates movement and small gestures that complement a posed portrait.
A shared activity can be a good beginning for your evening before the wedding. Whether a cooking class suits you depends on your guests and the time available. A dinner without any further programme also leaves room to get to know one another and settle in after travelling.
The design combines strong red with patterned tableware and striped table linen. Repeated colours connect the different motifs. For your planning, a consistent colour scheme can therefore provide a clear thread while leaving room for individual accents.

Day 02: A wedding editorial in historic surroundings
The Content Experience Italy wedding editorial followed on September 23, 2026. Historic interiors and a leafy courtyard provide the setting for different scenes. The staged ceremony shows one possible design; it does not document an actual marriage.
In the interior photographs, flowers and table settings pick up colours from the wall paintings. That is a useful starting point for a wedding in an Italian villa. First look at the existing surfaces, then decide which decorations will complement them.
From a photographic perspective, it is also worth treating the rooms as part of the design. A wide shot establishes the setting, while a close portrait directs attention to the couple. This creates a coherent visual story without changing locations for every image.

Getting married in Veneto: include village life and the landscape
Alongside Venice, Veneto has rural areas with historic villas and wineries. Around Cison di Valmarino, the foothills of the Treviso Prealps shape the surroundings. In this series, the slopes remain visible behind the houses and give the portraits a clear sense of place.
You can include this setting in your stay during a wedding weekend. A walk before dinner needs less organisation than a full-day group outing. Give your guests the choice of joining you or taking some time for themselves.
A rural celebration involves different logistics from a party in Venice. Pay particular attention to arrivals and the distances between accommodation options. More regional ideas are available in the overview of destinations in Italy.
Villa Marcello Marinelli in Cison di Valmarino
I Giardini Segreti di Villa Marcello Marinelli is located in Cison di Valmarino, in the province of Treviso. The regional tourism platform describes it as a historic residence from the late sixteenth century. It lists fourteen rooms with private bathrooms, along with a leafy courtyard and a frescoed hall.
The description on Visit Prosecco Hills also lists a wine shop. For a multi-day celebration, the relationship between the different areas is worth considering. The operator must confirm which rooms and bedrooms you can actually book for your date.
Piazza Roma and the paths along the Rujo are among the sights described for the town. The Italian tourism portal introduces Cison di Valmarino. Places like these can help your guests shape their own stay.
Villa or winery: choose according to the celebration you are planning
A villa with historic interiors can suit a dinner with formal dress. At a winery, you may care more about the view across the landscape. In each case, the important questions are which areas your party can use and how they connect to one another.
Visit the interiors even if you mainly want to celebrate outdoors. A weatherproof backup area should suit your guest count and planned use. Also clarify whether other guests or events will be on site during your celebration.
Include these points in your enquiry
- Which areas can you use for the reception, ceremony and dinner?
- What guest count is possible in each area?
- Which rooms are actually available for your date?
- What alternative is available in rain or extreme heat?
- May you bring your own vendors, and what rules apply to set-up?
- How are music, end times and routes for guests with limited mobility handled?
Have the agreed services confirmed in writing before booking further vendors. For a civil marriage, the responsible authorities are your point of contact. A symbolic ceremony does not replace it.
Wedding photographer in Veneto: a story from different perspectives
In my photographs, people and their surroundings belong together. A view of the courtyard establishes the setting; the close-up that follows shows hands raising a toast. The sequence turns individual photographs into a story that remains easy to follow later.
For your portraits, I would like to use existing paths and short pauses in the schedule. This allows photography to fit around your time with your guests. Natural light is an important reference when choosing the location and time window.
Historic interiors deserve a separate look at the light on your planned wedding day. Discuss early which rooms could work for getting ready and possible portraits. Family photographs also need a suitable place and enough time in the schedule.
The editorials show designed scenes. At a real wedding, the unplanned encounters of your guests become part of the day. In the Renois Weddings portfolio you can see how I connect different situations within a reportage.
Questions when planning your wedding weekend
Do all guests need to stay in the same accommodation?
You can plan several accommodation options if the distances work for your group. Clarify early how guests will return after dinner. Information about transfers and meeting points belongs in your travel notes from the start.
How should you divide the welcome dinner and wedding day?
Take your guests' arrival times and possible travel delays into account for the evening before. A later start may make more sense than a full afternoon programme. Our guide to the destination wedding timeline helps you coordinate the individual days.
